Below is some information on what this talk is about and the topics covered

Why This Talk?
The purpose of this talk is to create a space where young boys can explore ideas about themselves with warmth and encouragement. It helps them feel seen, valued, and excited about growing into the best version of themselves.
This assembly and its supporting workshops are designed to gently introduce younger boys to the ideas of masculinity and identity in a way that feels fun, safe, and age-appropriate. Through storytelling, role play, open discussion, and the exploration of real-life heroes and positive male role models, boys begin to see what healthy, kind, and confident masculinity looks like in action — at home, in their communities, and in the wider world.

For primary and prep pupils, the focus is on building empathy, teamwork, and self-belief — helping boys understand that being strong also means being caring, fair, and respectful.

For preschoolers, the approach is even softer and more playful. Using simple stories, characters, and games, we begin planting the earliest seeds of positive identity and emotional awareness, helping little boys feel proud of who they are and excited about who they can become.

Supporting Workshops
Workshop 1: Everyday Heroes
Boys explore the positive impact men have in families, communities, and the wider world. Through stories, role-play, and games, they discover that true role models are not just celebrities, but everyday heroes who show kindness, courage, and responsibility.

Workshop 2: Big Feelings, Brave Choices
This interactive workshop helps boys understand that emotions are normal and manageable. Using storytelling, role-play, and creative activities, they learn how to recognise their feelings and practice making strong, positive choices when faced with frustration, anger, or sadness.

Workshop 3: The Power of Words
Words shape how we feel and how we act. In this session, boys learn how positive self-talk can build confidence and resilience, while negative words can hold them back. Through fun activities and group exercises, they practice turning negative thoughts into encouraging ones.

Workshop 4: Respect & Relationships – Online and Offline
This workshop equips boys to build healthy, respectful relationships in both real life and the digital world. Through discussions, role-play, and problem-solving games, they learn how to stay safe online, respect boundaries, and respond to rejection with resilience and kindness.
