Parents Workshop
Understanding Boys Today: A Guide for Parents
This talk gives parents a clear, honest and refreshing look at what boys are facing in today’s world — from social pressures and online influences to identity, motivation, relationships, confidence and emotional development. Drawing on the work we do directly with boys across all school settings — including mainstream, SEND, alternative provision and sports academies — we explore what genuinely helps young men grow into resilient, respectful and grounded adults.

Parents will learn practical, evidence-based strategies for building connection, managing defensiveness, supporting emotional expression, strengthening confidence, and guiding boys through the noise of social media and modern expectations. This is a supportive, non-judgemental space that replaces unhelpful narratives about “toxic masculinity” with a positive, constructive understanding of who boys are and what they need. The session includes a Q&A and can be tailored to the specific concerns of your school community.
